Our 2nd trip to Bear’s Den and Gatlinburg!  Can’t say enough about how wonderful and serene this place is.  This time around we did Guiness World Records (so-so), Pancake Pantry 3 days in a row – Wild berry crepes and Star Breakfast are a must try!  Applebarn in Sevierville (fun) Hard Rock – always a good time.  Also did the Ghost Walk of Gatlinburg – That is an absolute must do.  Walked a lot, cooked a lot & had a blast.  Can’t wait until next time.

We love the cabin, it is so warm and cozy.  Everything we need is here.  We have had a wonderful time here at the Bear’s Den.   Our eight year old son thought it was cool that there were games here and especially checkers and Uno.  The next morning he woke up and had the checkers game set up and waiting for his Dad to play with him.  He also loved the Jacuzzi tub.  He has had the best time here and it has been so much fun to bring him to the Smokies that we will be coming back as soon as we can and we will be staying in this cabin again hopefully.  Thanks to the Davis’s for sharing their Mt. Home with us.

We arrived at the Bear’s Den on Monday,  May 2nd.   It was better than we could have hoped it would be.  We felt as if we were at home, very nice and friendly surroundings.  We enjoyed many sights and places of Gatlinburg.  Really enjoyed the Ripley Aquarium and Believe It Or Not Museum.  We would recommend the Dixie Stampede.  It’s a dinner and show.  Places we really liked for dinner were Corky’s Ribs and BBQ, Alamo Steakhouse, The Park Grill, and Aunt Granny’s inside Dollywood.  All very pricey, but well worth it.  We also enjoyed mini-golf and hiking trails.  We had a wonderful stay and made lots of memories to take home with us.  We look forward to coming back again.

We just stayed the weekend but it was still nice.  It rained a lot – but it didn’t stop us from playing outside, the hot tub was nice since it was cold.   We played the games and browsed through the books, that was nice, since I am a book lover.

This cabin is wonderful, my family and I have been through a lot of stress since January, and it was nice to get away.  The cabin smelled great and very clean!

We decided to pick something unique for our five-year anniversary.  With some research from my Better Half he found this beautiful cabin.  The weather was perfect, we enjoyed sight seeing in town, and loved this cabin so much we spent our anniversary indoors.

We grilled steak, had fantastic king crab, lovely artisan cheese and fruit, grilled veggies, and chocolate fondue – better than any restaurant could offer, and perfect ambience.

This is an anniversary that won’t forget and we are now planning to make this our tradition going forward.  Thank you for the beautiful home and unforgettable memories.  We will be back!

This cabin is delightful with many “extras” that make it feel cozy.  We were here this weekend for the “Warbird Skyventure”. He (Jim) flew an AT6.  What a great time!  Thank you for opening your cabin to us.  We had a wonderful relaxing time with Jim’s sister & her husband – Carolyn and Charlie.

We hope to return.

My husband and I have been on a journey for the last 5 years.  At the start of our journey we took our honeymoon right here in Gatlinburg.  Throughout the last five years we have been thru many ups and downs together.

We decided we both needed some time together to pray and rebuild what had been broken up a little.  Our first choice for vacation was Disney in Orlando.  But Hurricane Francis made our decision for us and so we decided to return to this beautiful and friendly place to renew our relationship with each other and God.

The time we have spent together this week in this warm and inviting cabin has been a blessing to us.  We want to thank Angela and Brian Davis for opening this glorious place up to us.  It was a home away from home and we look forward to returning on future trips!

We made last minute plans for a long weekend in Gatlinburg.  I was apprehensive about the accommodations.  Your cabin was a wonderful surprise.  We especially enjoyed the little touches – Good books (my daughter and I both red “The Notebook”), puzzles & games.  While here, we especially enjoyed white water rafting and highly recommend this side trip to everyone.  The “touristy” things were fun as well – Dixie Stampede, horseback riding, shopping, and of course, the park.  Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin!

Thank you for allowing us to use your cabin. Staying in "The Bear's Den" was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations we have ever spent. We plan to stay here again in the future. By the way, James and I were trying to devise a plan to take the cabin with us to Kentucky, but since we can't we've decided to build our own cabin.

I couldn’t have made better plans to celebrate the New Year than spending time at the Bear’s Den with friends I feel blessed to have.  We were a group of “Happy Campers”, everything was perfect and Gatlinburg is so beautiful.  What a privilege!

Nancy – McMinnville, TN

My best friends, I grew up with, asked us to celebrate New Years Eve and Jim’s birthday.  What a great time we have had.  The hot tub is great.   Kenny and I also celebrated our 19th Wedding Anniversary.

Brenda - McMinnville, TN

Bear’s Den was most enjoyable!  We ate at Alamo’s and rang in the New Year at Bear’s Den.   My husband turned 50 years old 12/31/03.  We had a great time with each other, and some great friends.  Thank you,

Jackie - Madison, AL

We had the time of our life. The mountains are beautiful. We enjoyed the cabin so much. Our whole family came. What a wonderful vacation and everything is so convenient in this lovely cabin.

We had a great time. What a terrific cabin!! Our family's favorite things we did were: skiing, the Dixie Stampede, the Apple Barn and dinner at the Applewood restaurant (hint: Go hungry), racing cars at the racetrack and being together playing games by the fire. We hope to come back again.

What a wonderful place to stay. Your cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed everyday here. It did rain a few days but we didn't mind at all. It was a real pleasure to enjoy the hot tub on a chilly evening. Us ladies has some really good conversations! Thank you for sharing your home with us, we can't wait to visit again. The location is spectacular.

A very memorable "Girls" vacation with a little bit of everything! : )

We had lots of fun and were able to relax and break away from our busy home lives for a few days. The cabin was great. We felt like it was our home away from home. We hope to be back soon!

P.S. We highly recommend Calhoun's for dinner. They have fantastic ribs!

Five sisters - four from Virginia and one from Oregon - stayed here for several days to enjoy the mountains, each other, and the towns of Cherokee and Gatlinburg. We had a great time and wish we had more time. You have a very cozy and comfortable house.

We arrived on Sat. in time for a late lunch at the Applewood Farm and “doggie-bagged” some apple fritters and butter for breakfast.  Sun. we shopped the Arts and Crafts Community and then had dinner at The Smoky Mountain Trout House.  The new “The Pirates” exhibit at the Aquarium is lots of fun.  This trip we wine tasted at Smokey Mountain Winery and the Mountain Valley Vineyard and took in “Once Upon A Trunk” at the Sweet Fanny Adams  theatre.  We also tried the Greenbrier Restaurant and Pancake Pantry before leaving on Wed.   I think almost EVERYTHING was only a mile or two from the Bear’s Den?!

Well, we’re leaving in the morning.  We called to see if we could stay another night but the cabin is already booked by another party – no big surprise there!

We were very pleased to find the cabin neat & clean, tastefully decorated with all the conveniences of home.

It’s been seven years since our last trip to Gatlinburg, but now that we’ve found the “Bear’s Den” it won’t be that long before we come back again.  Thank you for sharing your Tennessee mountain home with us!

  Best wishes

New Year’s in Gatlinburg – a tradition we hope to continue!   (Only if we can always stay at the Bear’s Den.)

We have been planning this trip and pinching our pennies for the past 4 months.  It was well worth it.

We and our children (Jackson, 8 and Tara Kate, 4) loved everything about the cabin, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Thank you for allowing us to borrow your home away from home.  See you same time next year!

This is the second time we have all stayed here.  We really enjoyed the cabin & the peacefulness that surrounds.  We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

This is our second stay in your comfy cabin – we like the location and its inviting coziness!

We will be back soon, we love coming to the “Smokies” and do so four to five times a year.  We started coming since our honeymoon almost 40 years ago.

Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.  See you soon,

HAPPY NEW YEAR! !

We arrived on Thursday afternoon in what we call in Texas…blizzard-like conditions!  It was snowing sideways and coming down in beautiful big flakes.   We made a big pot of Texas chili and played cards by the fire.  It’s a good thing that we took lots of pictures because it all melted the next day.  We attended a few meetings in Knoxville and returned to the cozy little cabin in Gatlinburg.  We appreciate you sharing your beautiful vacation home with us and plan to visit again in the coming years.

Sincerely,

We had a Great Time here at your cabin.  We are 2 couples & 4 best friends.  Throughout the years of our priceless friendship, we have spent countless weekends together.  We jump at the chance for a “Roadtrip”, knowing that wherever the “Road” leads, we will have fun when we get there!

Our short, but wonderful, time here has been in awe of God’s Awesome creations.  The mountains are breathtaking!  This is obviously a special place for many people based on the brief writings of your previous guests.  Thanks you for our special memories here.

Your cabin is beautiful and the location was very convenient.  We hiked Laurel Falls and saw a bear close up.  Mount Le Conte (10 mi. round-trip but worth it), Almans Falls (wear swimsuits) and Andrews Bald.  Our boys enjoyed Ober Gatlinburg and white water rafting the best though.  The grill is great!  Thank you for sharing your cabin.

We spent 4 days here.  Each day has somehow changed our outlook and made us all closer together.  We spent our Senior Spring Break in this wonderful cabin and we wouldn’t have it nay other way.  We came as 7 friends, but how we are leaving as 7 sisters.

We love this cabin and this town and will be forever grateful for all the memories we have made.  “Seven Heaven”

We all had a great time. Everything was perfect. It snowed, we had bar-b-que, and a good dip in the Jacuzzi. Thanks for everything.

We love your home! When we made plans to stay in a cabin, I'll admit I was nervous about how rustic it would be. I was very pleased walking through the door the first time. Everything is better than even I could imagine and hope for. An added delight and surprise was waking up Sunday morning to snow cascading down the mountain. A more beautiful setting only God could create. What a wonderful weekend! We plan to spend the day in town seeing the sights. We will definitely make plans to stay here again. Thank you!

Four of us stayed last year.
This time we brought two more.
The house we stayed at this time
Was better than the one before.

The cabin was wonderful,
With the feeling of being at home.
We hated to leave on Sunday
When it was over and had to head home.

The Bear's Den was great.
The weekend was fine.
We all can hardly wait
Till we see you next time.

Thanks for a great vacation.

Dear Brian and Angie

We had a great time in your beautiful log cabin. All the comforts of home - a cozy retreat from our busy lives back in Bloomington. The scenery and food were unreal here in eastern TN!

We'd love to come back again and again. Thanks so much for sharing your "dream" with us for a short while.
