The Bear's Den is professionally managed by Jackson Mountain Homes, inc. In order to make your trip a more pleasant one, we highly suggest that you plan to arrive at the Jackson Mountain Homes rental office during office hours, between 3 pm and 5:30 pm. Click here for a map to the JMH office.

Prior to leaving home, you should call the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce (800-568-4748), AAA Motor Club or visit the Jackson Mountain Home Web site for maps, travel updates and weather information.

Just prior to your trip you should monitor the weather for any possibilities of severe weather conditions along your route, especially during the winter months. Check the current Smoky Mountain weather.

The Bear's Den cabin has two paved parking areas and is accessed by city maintained paved roads. However, in winter you will need to be prepared for snowy and icy conditions.

WARNING: Hwy 441, through the mountains, can be closed due to snow conditions. You should call the Park Service (865-436-1200) for possible road closings.

AVOID THE HEAVY TRAFFIC
Take the yellow highlighted less traveled scenic routes to Gatlinburg and enjoy the trip.
